ECOFEMINISM IS NOT NICHE

ABSTRACT

In this episode, we will be transported to the small village of Piplantri in the Rajsamand province of Rajasthan, India to explore an unlikely ecofeminist agenda. Using Piplantri’s dedication to reforestation and improving the lives of women as an example of ecofeminism, I discuss the background of the movement, its economic implications and the gendering of Nature. Exploring the thoughts of Dr. Vandana Shiva, Dr. Julie Nelson, Timothy Morton and Juliann Allison on ecofeminism, this podcast is a call to action to reconsider our daily lives and our interactions with our environment.
